Watch out for job offers involving listing items on Allegro.
Working from home with a low level of involvement and at the same time high earnings sounds very attractive, especially in the current economic reality. Scammers know this , trying to take advantage of the difficult financial situation of many of us, offering jobs on terms that are too good to be true .
Recently, on various portals and social media, you may have encountered job offers or the so-called "quick earnings" , consisting in selling items on Allegro and Allegro Lokalnie on behalf of a third party. You will admit that such work seems to be very simple - it is enough to place offers with a description and photos provided by another person, almost always using your own Allegro account. You do not need to have any experience, and for each item sold you will deduct a large "commission", and the rest of the funds you will transfer to your "employer" immediately after the sale. Although you will never see this man with your own eyes, contact with him can be professional and convincing. Often you will even receive a seemingly reliable contract, and after a trial period a promise of sales on a company account.
Unfortunately, it's probably a fraud! The person with whom you undertake such cooperation is hiding under a false identity, either fictitious or stolen. Often, after completed transactions, you will be obliged to send funds using Blik or other forms of quick payment, omitting a traditional transfer. Fraudsters know that this makes it difficult to identify them and prevents law enforcement from blocking their bank accounts. You will soon find out that the goods you offer do not even exist and will never reach the buyers with whom you have entered into a binding sales contract. These cases will be inevitably reported to the police, and you will find it difficult to avoid legal and financial consequences despite your good intentions.
Be cautious and do not accept such job offers. You can only lose on them. In addition, by concluding such a fictitious contract and sending the scammer photos or scans of your identity documents, you run the risk that your personal data will be used to take out a loan or in another online crime. The job that was supposed to change your life will get you into serious trouble .
Ignore the job offer as soon as you notice any of the following alarming details:
- The need to use a private account to list offers;
- The need to use a private bank account to receive payments;
- No possibility to verify the authenticity of the employer;
- Very low requirements and attractive earnings;
- The need to transfer payments using Blik;
- No paper contract.
